Music River on Paper

Turn the handle, play the music

We looked at some non-artifacts yesterday, and I missed one day of note this week. I think it is time to look at some actually interesting and interactive exhibition.

I like how this work materialized music on paper tapes and a bit retro of the playback mechanic. When it plays, it feels like a river slowly flowing through, and with the music playing (at my own pace), it definitely feels refreshing.

And this is not the only music tape. These tapes could have been painted to have more dramatic scenes, but this seems nice enough already.

Metamorphosis Music Notation, by Annesas Appel, was on exhibition at Print Center New York in 2022.
